The Southampton Hat Trick

A Titanic-themed pub crawl & treasure hunt through the historic streets she sailed from.

The Story

Every pub has a past. These have a ship's log

Our lad has lost his lucky hat, and he's got until she departs to get it back.

On the 10th of April, 1912, RMS Titanic slipped out of Southampton Water bound for New York, and never came back the way she left. More than nine in ten of her crew called this city home, and the streets around the old docks are still stitched through with their story: builders, stewards, stokers, and the pubs they drank in the night before she sailed.

The Southampton Hat Trick sends you and your crew out to find them. A self-guided trail across historic Southampton pubs, each one holding a genuine thread of Titanic history, and a clue you'll have to earn before you're pointed to the next.

No spoilers here, though. The map, the pubs, and the clues are only unlocked once you've got your ticket.

Before You Go

Questions from the quayside

Do we have to go inside the pubs?

Not if you don't want to. Every clue you need to solve the trail and collect your letters is outside, so you can do the whole hunt without setting foot indoors. Fancy going in anyway? Each pub's got a little bonus task waiting, and it's not just about ordering a pint.

How long does it take?

Reckon on about 90 minutes if you go straight from clue to clue. Stop in for a drink at each pub and it can happily fill an entire day.

How many people can play?

Any number. Fly solo, bring a partner, or rally a full crew: one ticket covers your whole group.

What do I actually get when I buy a ticket?

Your treasure map, the full clue pack, and the list of nine pub stops, sent straight to your inbox so you can start whenever you like.

Is it suitable for families?

The trail itself is family-friendly: it's the pubs' own licensing that decides who can order what once you're inside.
